Hypnobirthing Classes

HypnoBirthing® is a practice based on the philosophy that a woman's body is designed to birth naturally and without medical intervention. When properly prepared, a woman has the ability to give birth easily, more comfortably and often times without pain. The HypnoBirthing® program guides mothers and their partners through a variety of techniques including deep relaxation, self-hypnosis, special breathing, visualizations and affirmations to help prepare for a calm birth.

Don't let the name throw you off. Hypnosis is simply a way of replacing negative thought patterns with positive ones so that you can give birth the way you desire without fears getting in your way. In class, mothers and their partners will learn to release pre-existing fears about birth, understand why discomfort does not need to be a part of the birthing experience and build confidence to trust in their own ability to birth naturally.

A message from the instructor, Lara Wiseman: "The most empowering moments of my life were giving birth to our two boys. I felt so fully connected; to my baby, to my spirit and to my ability to bring a child into the world the way my body intended. I couldn't imagine having done it any other way. I believe HypnoBirthing played a huge role in my ability to give birth the way I wanted, and thus I chose to become a Certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner so I could share what I learned with other parents. My vision for teaching HypnoBirthing is to help empower parents to create the birth experience they desire for their family so that they may welcome their baby into the world with serenity, joy and love."

Lara will begin a five-week class series at Tree of Life Birth Center, every Thursday evening, starting August 6th, from 6:30 - 9:00pm.  The course is $375 per couple.  It is recommended to start HypnoBirthing® around 28 weeks in your pregnancy.   Accelerated private courses are also offered to fit your schedule and needs.
